A Bit About Me

I am ever-so, ever-so old. Well, early fifties. I keep trying to convince people that fifty is the new thirty.

I was born in Durham, UK, but escaped to Yorkshire when I was six.

I got me a degree in Interior Design and worked on commercial interiors in the UK for about ten years, mainly doing shops, office, hotels and pubs (if you thought pubs just 'happened', think again - all that spit and sawdust, the junk on the walls and the nicotine on the ceiling have been carefully specified by someone like me).

I moved to the Middle East in the nineties, spending an interesting year in Saudi Arabia, followed by thirteen slightly less interesting years in Dubai. During that time Teh Interwebz* was invented, and I thought designing websites would be a good bandwagon to jump on (I was wrong, as it happens, but that's another story).

My Darling Wife and I moved to Madrid in 2007 (our son is at University in London), where I finally got the time and the inclination to focus on writing.
